AOD-9604 is a synthetic peptide fragment of the human growth hormone. It is composed of residues 177 to 191 of the C-terminal region of the hormone, with a tyrosine added to the N-terminal end, and it contains a single disulfide bridge between its two cysteines. The fragment was designed to isolate the region of the growth hormone associated with lipid metabolism while excluding the regions responsible for binding to the growth hormone receptor, so that it does not act as a growth hormone agonist and does not increase IGF-1.
AOD-9604 is used in research on adipocytes and lipid metabolism. Provided as a lyophilized powder, 10 mg per vial.
