GLP2-TZ is a synthetic peptide of 39 amino acids based on the insulinotropic glucose-dependent polypeptide (GIP) sequence and designed to act as an agonist on two receptors: the GIP receptor and the peptide-like glucagon-1 (GLP-1) receptor. It contains two isobutyric acid amino acid residues that block cleavage by dipeptidyl peptidase-4, and a C20 fatty acid side chain attached to the lysine 20 by a hydrophilic linker, which binds the peptide to serum albumin and extends its half-life to approximately five days. GLP2-TZ is the active ingredient of prescription medications; this research material is not one of those products.
GLP2-TZ is used in research on incretin receptor pharmacology. Provided as a lyophilized powder in 10 mg and 20 mg vials.
